Political agendas have corrupted the church, turning sacred spaces into platforms for activism. The faithful must reclaim their sanctuary before it’s too late.

President Donald Trump was left in disbelief as he was forced to listen to a woke bishop deliver a stunning sermon calling for him to show ‘mercy’ to migrants and transgender children.

On the first full day of Trump’s presidency Marianne Budde, a left-wing Episcopal bishop, unleashed a wild sermon claiming trans kids were ‘fearing for their lives’ due to him being in the Oval Office.

Trump sat stony-faced in the front row, next to First Lady Melania Trump, as the bishop claimed some people in America were afraid following his election.

Addressing Trump directly during the service at Washington National Cathedral, the bishop said: ‘I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country that are scared now.

‘There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives.’

She then asked Trump to have mercy on illegal immigrants.

‘The people who pick our crops, and clean our office buildings who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants, and work the night shifts in hospitals, they might not be citizens or have the proper documentation,’ she said.

‘The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. I ask you to have mercy Mr. President on those in communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away.’

Trump showed no reaction and looked on wearily after a full day and night of Inauguration festivities. Other members of the congregation looked uncomfortable.

But the bishop continued her stunning pro-migrant lecture, adding: ‘Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger for we were all strangers once in land.’

Republicans and MAGA supporters eviscerated the bishop.

‘The person giving this sermon should be added to the deportation list,’ wrote Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) on social media.

Budde champions leftist causes through her ministry.

On her diocesan website, she boasts of serving as ‘an advocate and organizer in support of justice concerns, including racial equity, gun violence prevention, immigration reform, the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ persons, and the care of creation.’

She also has a long history of criticizing President Trump during his first term.

The church, a sacred space meant for spiritual refuge and moral guidance, has been shamelessly hijacked by political agendas that have no place in a house of worship. It’s a disturbing trend, one that epitomizes the erosion of faith and values in our nation. Recent events surrounding Episcopal Bishop Marianne Budde and her plea to President Trump to “show mercy” to LGBTQ children and illegal aliens highlight this alarming shift.

Let that sink in. In what world is it acceptable to reduce human beings to mere laborers, all while weaponizing their struggles for political theater?

Compassion or Grandstanding?

What happened was not a call for genuine compassion. It was political grandstanding disguised as virtue. The church has a duty to minister to all souls, regardless of background, but this is a far cry from turning pulpits into platforms for activism.

LGBTQ children terrified for their lives, undocumented workers exploited to make a point—it’s heartbreaking. But weaponizing these narratives to push political agendas within sacred spaces is beyond inappropriate. It’s a betrayal of what the church is supposed to represent.

“Show Mercy”…But At What Cost?

True mercy must align with truth and justice. The church should uplift the downtrodden without compromising the integrity of its mission. Yet, this performance from Bishop Budde sends a dangerous message: that pandering takes precedence over principle. Mercy without accountability is not mercy at all—it’s enabling.

For years, Americans have witnessed organized religion bend to societal pressures. This isn’t infiltration; this is creation. Activist-driven churches have risen from the ashes of traditional faith, bringing with them a wave of moral relativism that leaves many faithful scratching their heads.

Hijacking the Service of God

In another shocking turn, a lesbian pastor took the stage during this “woke” church service, imploring President Trump to be more compassionate towards transgenders and illegal immigrants. Her rhetoric was a slap in the face to hardworking Americans and even to the very individuals she claimed to defend. To boil undocumented workers down to “people who pick crops and clean toilets” is not advocacy—it’s dehumanization.

The irony is palpable. On one hand, this “woke” faction within the church cries out for inclusion and respect. On the other, they reduce entire groups of people to their utility. It’s a hypocritical spectacle that leaves the faithful disillusioned and the skeptics emboldened.

Organized Religion Has Lost Its Way

The infiltration of political agendas into churches isn’t just a recent phenomenon—it’s the product of decades of erosion. Organized religion, once a cornerstone of American life, has been co-opted by those who see it as a convenient tool for influence. But blaming the church alone ignores a deeper issue: the willingness of people to follow blindly.

The faithful were once guided by moral clarity. Now, many are led astray by leaders who prioritize headlines over holiness. This isn’t the fault of one individual or one church; it’s a systemic issue that spans denominations and doctrines.

The Church’s LGBTQ Problem

It’s no secret that the church as a whole struggles with LGBTQ issues. For years, it’s been caught between the conservative base that upholds traditional values and the progressive factions that demand full inclusion. This tension has fractured congregations and alienated countless believers.

The solution isn’t easy. But using the pulpit as a soapbox to air political grievances isn’t the answer. Spiritual guidance must be rooted in scripture, not social media soundbites.

A Call to Action: Reclaiming the Church

It’s time for Americans to take a stand. The church must return to its true purpose: guiding souls, providing hope, and upholding timeless truths. Political agendas have no place here. The faithful deserve leaders who prioritize God’s word over political buzzwords.

Shame on those who exploit the church for their own gain. Shame on those who reduce sacred spaces to stages for activism. The American people are waking up, and they won’t stand for it any longer.

The time for change is now. Will the church rise to the occasion or continue down this path of pandering and division?
